I was briefly in Federated Defense Corp but left as no one was ever online. Right now, i've been gaming PvE but will be interested in PvP once i'm level-capped.

Well, welcome to the 9th Fleet. A Command Staff member should be around to accept your application, after which I'm sure you'll want to get involved with hooking up with the PvP/PvE people in the STO forums.
